Our Story: A Mission to Help the Needy and Poor Access Healthcare

MODERN US HEALTH CHARITABLE TRUST's journey began with a series of deeply moving moments in hospitals in India & the United States—one in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India and another in Dallas, Texas in the United States. In both places, our Founder & CEO witnessed heartbroken family members pleading for help to cover overwhelming medical bills they couldn’t afford. Moved by their pain, our CEO stepped in to assist these families and a few others facing similar hardships in both India and the United States. While these acts of kindness provided immediate relief, they highlighted a much bigger issue globally.

These small gestures may have brought temporary relief to a few families, but they uncovered a larger, global crisis: millions of people in India, Nepal, the United States and many other countries struggle to access healthcare due to a lack of money, savings, or adequate insurance.

It’s not only the poor who need help; many middle-income families also find themselves driven into debt or bankruptcy due to the high cost of medical treatments and associated expenses.

This issue isn’t isolated to developing nations. Even in the United States, healthcare costs are so high that many families can’t afford the necessary care, no matter how hard they work. Sadly, the result is the same: millions are denied life-saving treatments, necessary medications, or even basic consultations simply because they can't pay.

Over 4.5 billion people worldwide lack essential health coverage, and 1 billion people face catastrophic health spending which they can not afford (WHO, World Bank). In the U.S., 26 million people (8%) are uninsured, while many with insurance struggle with high premiums or denied claims. In India, 400 million people (30%) lack insurance, with others facing inadequate coverage. These statistics are just the tip of the huge iceberg in healthcare which highlight the critical need for accessible and affordable healthcare globally.

Our Founder & CEO has witnessed first-hand the financial hardships that many families face when trying to access essential care. These experiences became the driving force behind our mission to make a real, lasting change.

Our belief is simple: Healthcare is a basic right, and no one should be denied it simply because they are poor, needy, or middle-class.

Today, we are dedicated to breaking down the financial and systemic barriers that prevent people from receiving the care they need. Our ultimate goal is to make affordable healthcare a reality for everyone, everywhere.
