It began at the bedside
Our story began in hospitals in Karnataka and Texas, and in many other places in India and the United States. Our Founder, a doctor who has cared for patients in both countries, saw the same thing again and again: families suffering not only from illness, but from the cost of treating it.
Many had jobs, savings and even health insurance. Policies covered only part of the bill. Claims were delayed, partly paid or refused. One hospital stay could use up years of savings, for poor families and middle-class families alike.
Treating one patient at a time was not enough. What was missing were places to get care close to home, a hospital that would not turn people away, and money that would keep paying for care long after a single donation was spent. That is why the Trust was founded, and why our two flagship projects are community clinics with a general hospital, and a permanent corpus fund.

Mission
To build community clinics and a general hospital, to grow a permanent fund for chronic patient care, research and scholarships, and to help patients who cannot pay, with ethical, transparent and doctor-led work.

Independent and nonprofit
The Trust has its own trustees, accounts and audit. It is the charitable arm of a healthcare and technology group, and every rupee given to the Trust is used only for the Trust's charitable work in India.
